(*)Sparrow and bamboo pattern[竹に雀] is a pattern that is also used as the family emblem of the Sengoku warlords Uesugi and Date.

The combination of deep-rooted bamboo and sparrows, a familiar bird that pecks at food, was used to symbolize wealth and abundance, such as ``getting rid of bad luck'' and ``prosperity of descendants.'' The peony pattern is also a flower that is used as a symbol of wealth.
